I. Reason for Policy
The purpose of the Campus Access Policy is to inform the Florida Memorial University (FMU) community and visitors of appropriate access and control of FMU Premises. This Policy supports FMU’s efforts to maintain a safe and secure campus while providing necessary access to FMU Premises.
II. Policy Statement
As a private institution of higher education, FMU reserves the right to restrict or prohibit access to FMU Premises. Safety and security are the shared responsibility of all members of the FMU community
Campus Safety must ensure that all persons entering the campus have a legitimate purpose for entering campus. A valid government-issued or Florida Memorial University photo identification card must be presented to gain entry. After 5:00 p.m. and on the weekends, anyone entering campus must be sponsored, attending a scheduled event or otherwise authorized by the Campus Access Procedure No 1.1002. Those entering the campus for business or to attend a scheduled event will be issued a badge or wristband and vehicle access pass, as appropriate.
FMU reserves the right to impose additional restrictions to campus access, with or without notice FMU may also establish special health-related requirements for access to the campus or specified buildings, or university-sponsored events or activities, to support the health and safety of the FMU community. These requirements may be equal to or exceed guidelines issued by public health authorities.

The policy covers anyone seeking to enter FMU Premises.

V. Responsibilities
The President or designee has the authority to establish procedures to implement this policy. The Department of University Operations and Safety is responsible for implementation and oversight of this policy. For issues involving students, the Dean of Students or designee should be consulted. For issues involving employees, the Director of Human Resources or designee should be consulted.
VI. Enforcement
Anyone who violates this policy will be subject to appropriate corrective action, including immediate removal from FMU Premises.
